it helps a at some point mostly if u are a person who has probs with making ur own clothing but it ur good at making ur own clothing don't buy it u don't need it.

Based on the others two volumes in this serie, I expected a more complete volume, showing perhaps various sport-like costumes and how to draw it, even though it was calling Sex Sport Wear; after all, the other two volumes go beyond the mere "sex" aspect of costumes.So, if you want a lot of short shorts and bikinis, it is ok. If you want a more complete guide to draw sports wear, forget it

If you're looking for lots and lots(!) of minute details on summer-based active wear for females, this is a very solid guide to get.Contents include:1. Race queen uniforms; cheerleader uniforms; tennis outfits; gym uniforms; leotards.2. The most fundamental, eye-catching active wear: the swimsuit.3. Basic construction and design of eye-catching costumes.While men are briefly included in the swimsuit section, it's the female active wear in this volume that's way more varied & interesting. The overwhelming majority of the many female figures here are kind of small-sized, generic, and without facial features, because the emphasis is on their outfits. These designs are great for summer-like weather and basic, outdoor activity. It's definitely about aesthetics here, and not about mainstream sports & equipment. It might be true that full color fashion & sports magazines would be an even better source for reference than this black & white manga guide, but I still think it's great for its wide variety of clothing tips & details. And with 240 pages, it's a thicker book than most of the other volumes in this series.As good as these costume guides are, I think I might prefer the slimmer How To Draw Manga Volume 22: Bishoujo Around The World. The figures depicted in it are bigger & visually more varied, even though it has fewer pages. Really, I think all these guides are worth checking out, if you can find a decent price.

Trust me when I say, some of the titles can be very misleading. Fortunately, this book was not misleading at all. This book has what the title suggests, sport wear. In the book, it shows you a variety of sport wear that characters wear in their active lifestyles. Not only does it have sporty wear, but they also managed to sneak in some fantasy style clothing as well as cheerleading outfits in there as well. This book has a good bit of poses that would be very useful, and it shows how the body would look in certain outfits. If you are looking for a book that helps you come up with some cute and sporty ideas for a sport genre manga then this is definately a must buy! Also, there is very, I mean very little nudity in this book, so I would also recommend this book for those who are offended by nudity.

I was a little skeptical when I first saw the cover of this book, not to mention the title of this book. I think they titled it that so men would be drawn to it and buy it. But I must say this book is actually pretty good. It has some really creative ideas when it comes to fashion designs. You can also use the ideas to not only make sports wear, but anything your imagination can come up with. You could design simple bathing suits to active sports wear to even a hero's outfit or even yet a cool space suit. With this book you can even design a fashion that best suites a unique characters personality, that could have nothing to do with sports, the book is fantastically inspiring.The only down fall is its awfully weak when it comes to men's. Not that very many men will have sexy sports wear, but neither the first or second Costume Encyclopedias have much of anything for the men. The whole How To Draw Manga series kind of left in the dark when it comes to men. They have one book for Male Characters and five for Female Characters.Yet, this book is worth buying. But if you don't have the first Costume Encyclopedia, get that one first and skip over the second one.

I’ll be honest, I was doubtful that middle grade readers would retain interest in a book narrated by a “wise old tree.” Red is the antithesis of what you see in many action-packed middle grade stories: calm, cool, steady, stationary, quiet. Fortunately, the tree’s animal friends provide movement and comic relief, both with their antics and with their ridiculous self-naming systems (skunks, for example, name themselves after their favorite smells, resulting in monikers like FreshBakedBread.) The book’s human characters are more enigmatic. We only see small insights into their actions and motivations from Red’s stationary vantage point.Despite its unconventional narration, I found that my daughters remained riveted as we listened to Wishtree. I believe what makes this book shine is its accessibility. It has short chapters and the writing is straightforward. All levels of middle grade readers will be able to handle the writing and the themes, which focus on diversity, inclusion, kindness, and love. Exactly the themes our kids should be thinking and talking more about these days.There is one word in Wishtree, one very simple word, that brought both my husband and I to tears. I won’t tell you what it is. You’ll know it when you get there.

A story of acceptance and community told from the perspective of a wise 216-year-old northern red oak tree named Red, I read the book the Wishtree in one delicious (or is it deciduous) sitting. I laughed, I cried, and I was happy / sad when it was over. This is the book the world needs now more than ever. Pun-filled tree humor provides the laughter than opens the way to understanding that diversity is the key to a healthy, thriving society. Nature knows that. Nature has always known that. And it's time for us to embrace it, too.  A new Muslim family moves into the neighborhood and faces the ugliest side of human nature. The power of friendship, bravery, and history are woven together in this tale, part magic, part science, and all love. In Applegate's own words, there is a special kind of power in being able to stand tall and reach deep in all circumstances. Leave it to children's literature to teach us (adults and children alike) to be the very people we can be. Â

3.5 stars. I know tons of folks have adored this book. And I liked it. But it's a quiet book, a thoughtful book. And those are not always a good fit for me as a reader. If you have children/students who enjoy quiet, thoughtful books that move a little more slowly to allow for thinking, then this might be a great fit for them. If you have readers who want things to move quickly and have lots of action, they may struggle to finish this one.

This story is told from the perspective of a tree. There's inherent wisdom and patience that comes from being a tree, and now, we get to hang out with one for a few hundred pages. Our tree houses many neighborhood animals, all diverse yet similar. The neighborhood that our friend calls home is also very diverse and we get to watch what happens when a tree helps two kiddos become friends despite their different backgrounds. This story is for younger readers, and yes a tree that talks is make believe, but it's about real life. Get a copy, read it and then share it with your friends.Here are a few of my favorite quotes from the book:"Hollows offer protection from the elements. A secure spot to sleep and to stash your belongings. They're a safe place. Hollows are proof that something bad can become something good with enough time and care and hope" p. 5"... Sometimes things happen that aren't so good. When they occur, I've learned that there's not much you can do except stand tall and reach deep." P. 35"Real life, like a good garden, is messy." p. 209This book is going to be very popular. It was published in September of this year and has already topped some major book lists. It's beautiful. Not just pretty to look at, which it is, but so sweet. I hugged the book when I finished, which isn't something I never do, but it's reserved for a special category of book.

I would give this book 10 stars if it allowed it. Katherine Applegates delivers a powerful, timely, needed message with this beautifully written story. It brought tears, laughs and deep thoughts as I enjoyed “Reds” point of view on the life we are all living in 2017.

This book is good. I don't love Applegate's writing style. The chapters are so short. I believe there are 52 chapters, some are not even a page long. I didn't love the reasons behind all the animal names. It felt distracting. I probably wouldn't read this book again.

Another Katherine Applegate best! Wishtree tells a poignant tale of hoping, watching, knowing when to speak up, acceptance, friendship... told with the perfect blend of humor and seriousness. Delivers subtle yet powerful messages; so simplistic yet so necessary. Must read

I'm fairly new to greenwood carving. Mostly spoons. I've bought several books to see how others approach this pass time. This book is by far the one that I would recommend to anyone interested in starting out or furthering thier spoon carving.It is obvious that Barn cared enough to take the time to make it easily understood. Full of insights and usable information at a real price.

If you are thinking of learning how to carve spoons this is a must have book. Out of the 3 or 4 spoon books that I looked through this one was the one that I decided to buy. It is an enjoyable read with beautiful full color pictures of many kinds and styles of spoons. Most important of all he gives you pages of instructions on how to carve each spoon he has pictured. If you're like me and want to get just one spoon carving book this would be it.

This is a great book by one of the master green wood crafters and professional spoon carvers in the UK. Few people have developed the craft to this extent. Good for the beginner through seasoned carver. Beautiful designs and lots of examples of axing out technique, and knife holds for carving. I recommend this book highly for those interested in spoon, scoop, or server carving.

Great book., would not hesitate to buy it again. If you have never made a spoon this book will give you a good kick start. Well written and easy to understand. Even though the book has some great photography, it could use a few more illustrations of the processs used to carve. That’s the reason for a rating of four.

I loved reading this book. It is interesting, entertaining, well written, and full of valuable information. The combination of rational advise and the unique ecological perspective of the author make it a really spectacular read.

He really knows his stuff. About 30 different spoons shown, and hints and tips on how to make them. I have several books on spoons, this is the best.The standard others should look up to.
